Northern Cross is owned by Matthew and Jackie Fountain, we live near Royalton, Minnesota. We started making crosses in the winter of 2001. We do all the work ourselves, from our shop located on our property. Each cross is hand made by us, while Matt does the shop work such as cutting and routing, Jackie does all of the finish work.
It all started when Matt was going to make some bedroom furniture and was showing Jackie how he was going to join some pieces of oak together. Well, with out measuring he cut the pieces and put them together and they made a cross. Call it a sign, we both said how nice it would be to give as gifts to friends and family. Well one thing lead to another and we have been building our business since. We do showings at area churches, sell by word of mouth and sell to local gift shops, nursing homes and funeral homes. It gives us a great feeling when people use something we made for spiritual reasons. Oh by the way, Matt never finished the furniture.
We hope that through this website we are able to show people our work and offer them a quality product at a reasonable price. We take great pride in every cross that we make.
